Mentoring Scheme

Zoe, Akyea & Co. has instituted a mentoring scheme for young and underrepresented groups at the Ghanaian Bar.

This mentoring scheme is designed to encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to consider a career in law and to support and empower them if they decide to pursue a career at the Bar.

Purpose and Goals

These underrepresented groups include women, differently–abled persons and people from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds.
We firmly believe that the Bar should be open to everyone with the requisite ability. Our goal is that this mentoring scheme will help talented individuals who might not think that a career at the Bar is for them to understand what it has to offer and how to become a lawyer.

Mentorship Program

Applicants who wish to join the scheme will be allocated a mentor who will be a member of the Firm. As part of the scheme, mentees will be offered:

  • Between three and five one-on-one meetings with their mentor.
  •  A workshop on law school/pupillage applications.
  • One or more social events for mentors, mentees, and members of the Firm.
  • These meetings will provide mentees with practical information about becoming a lawyer and what being a lawyer entails.

Applicants wishing to participate in the scheme are requested to send an email to info@zakyea.com.
